context
st christopher’s is an established european hostel brand known for its social atmosphere and central locations. as the portfolio expanded, the brand began shifting from a traditional budget chain toward a more boutique, culture led experience.
however, the identity still leaned heavily on value driven messaging and began to feel dated. the challenge was to reposition st christopher’s for a younger, gen z audience, shifting perception from budget and basic to social and stylish without losing recognition.

system & impact
the iconic orange was retained as a recognisable anchor, while harsh black and white tones were softened into charcoal and cream to create a warmer, more premium feel. typography was refined into a clean sans serif paired with expressive scripts, balancing structure with personality. photography shifted toward candid, guest focused imagery highlighting shared spaces and everyday hostel life.
the result is a brand that feels curated rather than corporate, strengthening relevance with experience led travellers and creating a scalable visual framework that maintains consistency across locations while preserving personality.
